Metal:
a natural generator
Dynamic power. An iron bar will naturally create a magnetised area around it when electricity is passed through it.
What happens to the magnetism is the story of the generator.
Right-hand rule. Holding an iron bar in the right hand, the thumb will naturally point in the direction of the positive current and the fingers in the direction of the magnetic field. The magnetic force, or field, will flow outwards from the palm. This may be a positive charge moving to the right or a negative charge moving to the left.
Spinning it. Inside every generator is a coil of wire and strong magnets. By spinning the rotor blades, you spin the magnet. This causes an electric current to be generated in the coil, and electricity passes through the bulb
Electricity flows from the power supply to the brushes and through the coil. The coil is held in a magnetic field between magnets. When the current flows in the magnetic field a force is generated. The force spins the coil and the spinning coil turns a shaft
